Bhakti Vaibhava
Bachelor of Vaisnava Philosophy · 120 undergraduate credits · about 4 years.
Master the first six cantos of Srimad-Bhagavatam — Bhakti-vaibhava means “accomplished.”
About the title. This course prepares students for the ISKCON Board of Examinations (BOEX) Bhakti-vaibhava examination, and is aligned to BOEX standards. RVC will seek approval as an Approved Degree Examination Center once the first courses are established; until then, the college does not award the BOEX degree itself.
The Books
Bhakti Vaibhava is the in-depth study of Srimad-Bhagavatam, Cantos 1–6, studied canto by canto — building on the Bhakti Sastri books and topics.
The Framework
- Prerequisite: Bhakti Sastri (Associate, 60 credits).
- Core, 51 credits: AVC 15, sadhana courses 9, Sanskrit 12, Topical Survey in Srimad-Bhagavatam 3, Bhagavad-gita Overview 6, India Pilgrimage Practicum 6 — plus a 60-credit concentration in Vaisnava Philosophy and 9 credits of electives.
- Sadhana: daily japa, aratis and harinama run through the course.
- Sanskrit: the language of the books, learned alongside them.
- Practicum: the India pilgrimage — Mayapura, Vrndavana, Vaisnava sanga — is part of the degree.
Assessment (BOEX Pattern)
Following BOEX standards: open-book assessment, closed-book examinations, sloka recitation and attendance, as for Bhakti Sastri — at the Vaibhava gate.
Lessons will appear here as partner material (VIHE / Mayapur Institute / Chowpatty BACE, with permission and credit) and RVC’s own material arrive. Nothing here is invented — the framework above is the college’s own, from its prospectus.
